I'm in Melbourne my first stop on my Oz trip and so far I've sunbathed &
sightseen a lot. It was damn hot. Hot And Wet. But yesterday there was
a huge thunderstorm and now it's cooled down. Melbourne seems to be a
bit like Birmingham but a lot cleaner. Everything looks new here. At
the moment I'm in the State Library where you can use the internet for
free and they've got loads of multimedia stuff. I'm in Melb till
Wednesday but I'm doing a 2-day trip tomorrow to see some penguins,
koalas and some rocks.
missing you all loads
lots of love

Hi man, I'm in Sydney now after doing a fantastic 4-day trip from
Melbourne going through all these amazing places. You'd love it here.
Loads of amazing animals I never expected to see - I've seen kangaroos
hopping around and trying to eat my lunch, koalas, a lizard thing. No
snakes or spiders yet fortunately. The penguins were impressive too -
really cute. Anyway, I've just arrived here and I'm on my own again
after having the security of a group and guide etc. But I'm soon going
to hook up with my rellies and get some nice home-cooked food again.
The weather's been great but I've heard that up the coast there's a
cyclone (Cyclone Rhona - like my mum) and it's destroying parts of
Cairns. I hope it stops before I get there! There;s so much ahead of
me, that I've heard about - I can't believe I've only been in Oz for 8
days - it feels like a lot longer. I stopped in Bangkok on the way here
by the way - very cheap. I bought 13 albums on tape for about 1 pound
50 each and they're not even pirates!
Take care
See ya later mate

I visited the Sydney equivalent of Sollys and had an
Ozzie shwarma which was damn fine. (I've taken pictues for the website)
And then I visited a sheep station where there are 8000 sheep and I got
to shear one! They were offering free haircuts too...
I also rode a bucking sheep for 5 seconds which was quite good. Then
all the boys dressed up as girls and it was like being in a Monty Python
sketch except they were sheep shearers not lumber jacks.
Haven't done Ayers Rock yet - that's at the end of my trip. I'm on the
way up the east coast, and by the time you read this I should be
somewhere in Queensland.
Thanks for your messages and I'm still on the quest for more shwarm
Bye bye
luv Dan
